Why do we pick cashews? I’ve heard good things about almond milk so I was just wondering why you choose cashews.
Cashews are packed with Zinc, Copper and Magnesium, which are great for some very common concerns: building healthy bones, and strengthening hair, skin and nails.
I’m addicted and want to do this every week! How many days in a row can I cleanse?
We recommend that you always listen to your body and take it day by day. If you’re feeling particularly inspired, by all means, go for a 10-day Weight Watch Detox! Can you do 21-days? As with anything, it depends on the person. Some clients who have more serious cases or are using cleanses in cancer therapy have continued on a cleanse indefinitely, until they are healed. That said, we suggest the average person do 10-days at the most and then take a one day break to reassess how they feel. If you want to go longer than 10-days we suggest that you consult your doctor first.
How often should I do a cleanse?
A good rule of thumb is whenever you experience any of the following: fatigue/general lack of energy, sleeplessness, anxiety/depression, digestive problems, at the first sign of a cold and of course, before and after holidays or any special events that lead to overindulging. We recommend doing a cleanse once a month for at least three days. This allows your body the proper rest and recovery time it needs to maintain optimum health. Make it a healthy habit – the immune system loves a consistent schedule.
Will a one-day cleanse do anything?
YES! How would you react if you never had a day off? The benefits of a one-day cleanse, once a week are astronomical! This cleanse method has been an Eastern practice for centuries, used as a quick strategy to strengthen the immune system, sharpen mental clarity, and allow the body to “catch up.” Like yourself, your body needs a rest. After only one day of stopping solid food intake, enzymes stop visiting your stomach and instead travel into the bloodstream and intestines, where they get busy attacking all sorts of old waste matter, damaged cells, and pollutants.
What do I eat when I complete my cleanse?
There are two points here: The first one regards prep work. Before any cleanse, you should lighten up – gradually. If you eat everything, e.g. meat, cheese, candy, alcohol, etc, you should slowly eliminate those a few days before and incorporate lighter fare which might include: steamed veggies, wine or sake instead of hard liquor (although, for your education, you should eliminate all alcohol a few days before and focus on hydrating), fish instead of steak and baked instead of fried. You get the idea. The same general rule also applies to the post-cleanse menu. You need to stay away from dense, processed foods. This is where “common sense” comes into play.
Can I do Weight Watch Detox and eat food too?
The benefits of a cleanse will be lost if you eat solid food in addition to the juices. The idea of a cleanse is to only consume the juice so that your digestive system has time to rest. However, if you want to supplement your current diet with cold pressed juice it’s great for digestion and packed with vitamins and minerals.
Is it OK to exercise while cleansing?
Absolutely! Can we please finally put to rest the myth that if you don’t eat a lot, you’ll lack energy? Unless one is undergoing a water fast, which, should only be done with a coach, energy levels will skyrocket! You will be amazed to see that the more you allow your digestive tract to rest, the more your energy gets a boost. The energy that is usually spent on digestion is now yours for the taking, so grab it and go for a jog! Remember – you are feeding your cells, not stuffing your belly.
I can’t get the Green Juice down! Is it okay if I just skip them? Is it enough calories?
Skip the Green Juice? No way! It’s delicious and the workhorse of Weight Watch Detox. Power through it; it’s got all the good stuff. Good stuff means: vitamins, minerals, nutrients, anti-oxidants, flavanoids, enzymes and more. You could try adding some fresh squeezed lemon juice or having the juice over ice, that may help. If you have to, hold your nose and drink it. Just get it down one way or another. Just keep thinking you are giving your body raw sun shine!
Will I get light-headed if I’m not eating solid food?
On the contrary, one’s mind becomes clearer and one’s ability to solve problems enhances. This is because instead of large amounts of blood and nervous energies being sent to the digestive organs to break down a meal, that extra blood, oxygen, and energy is sent and utilized by the brain.
Can I drink soda’s, diet coke or sparkling water?
These will all contribute gas to your system, so they are not ideal. Diet coke and other such drinks are definitely not recommended. Try to drink lemon water or herbal and green teas instead.
Can my children take Weight Watch Detox juices?
Children should not do any type of juice cleanse or fast while they are still growing. That said, Weight Watch Detox is an amazing addition to any diet. Cold pressed juice is always a better alternative to soda.
What are the benefits of the green juices vs. the fruit juices?
The main benefit of green juice is its alkalizing effect. Fruit juices are more astringent; essentially the fruit digs it up and the green moves it out. Think of how your eyes start to water and maybe your nose runs a little when you bite into a lemon – citrus is a wonderful natural expectorant.
Will I gain all the weight back?
Hopefully, if weight control is your goal, Weight Watch Detox will put you on a path towards healthier habits. Many people report being able to focus more on what they are putting into their body after a Weight Watch Detox. Make this your goal in preparing for your cleanse, and ask yourself, “What am I going to do when this cleanse is over?” It’s an opportunity to “reset.”
How much weight will I lose?
Remember, this is a nutritional cleanse designed to give your digestive system a rest and therefore allow your body to eliminate toxins. Everybody’s metabolism is different so there is no definitive answer to this question. However, we are sure you will be very pleased with your results. Just don’t snack or sway off the program if you want optimum results.
Can I do this if I am on blood thinners?
The answer to this question is almost always no because of the amount of greens in our juice, but as always, check with your doctor before you start any program.
Should I continue to take my multi-vitamins? What about B-12?
If your vitamins are food-based, then maybe. You are consuming about 20 lbs of freshly pressed fruits and vegetables every day, which means that that is now essentially your “multi-vitamin.”
The only vitamin that you might want to add is B-12. There is much debate over whether or not vegetarians get enough B-12 on a plant based diet. If you do not want to take a supplement just add some sea vegetables or blue-green algae.
Where do I get my protein?
There are MANY sources of protein other than that which comes from animals. With Weight Watch Detox you’ll receive protein from our Green Juice as well as our Cashew Nut Milk. While the Cashew Nut Milk is a more obvious source of protein, don’t discount the protein punch that comes from living plant foods. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and amino acids are in everything.
Other great sources of protein include blue-green algae’s such as Chlorella, E3Live, Spirulina (64% protein), and Green Superfood Powders and concentrates such as Vitamineral Green. Where do you think the non-meat-eating, strongest animals in the world, the Silverback Gorillas, get their protein?
Shouldn’t I have fiber? Should I take fiber supplements?
Normally, fiber is great for moving things through your system, but when the body must separate out juice from fiber, there is an energy expenditure there that is significant. For our purposes, we want to reduce this burden as much as possible so that we can give the body and digestive tract a break from having to break down solid food – so that the saved energy can be transferred to cleansing processes. When you save energy in one department you can expend it somewhere else.
I am allergic to cashews and nuts – do you have a replacement?
Yes – we do cater to cashew nut allergies. You receive an additional Green juice instead. But please be aware that it is all made in the same premises.
Can I do Weight Watch Detox if I am lactose intolerant?
YES! There are absolutely NO animal products in our juice.
Can I do Weight Watch Detox if I have diabetes?
There are many types of diabetes. Usually, regardless of the type, the answer to this is no because of the amount of sugar in the fruit juice, but you should always check with your doctor first.
How many calories are in the 6 bottle Weight Watch Detox level?
Weight Watch Detox offers between 900 – 1,100 calories and the Weight Watch Detox Sport offers between 1,200 – 1,400. However, please bear in mind that counting calories with raw foods and juice is not equivalent to the calories you count on a traditional diet of cooked and/or processed foods. Nothing is wasted here, as the body knows how to assimilate all the calories in raw live foods, whereas a regular diet of 2,000 calories for example, might only have about 1,200 useable calories and the rest is “wasted” or stored as fat. We do try to encourage all our clients to move away from calorie oriented thinking, as it’s really no comparison. 500 calories of live juice is NOT the same 500 calories as a bagel with cream cheese! We try to focus on the nutritional content as opposed to the calorie content; Weight Watch Detox is more about nutrition and flooding your body with live enzymes.
Will the Reboot / Cleanse / Detox slow my metabolism?
Yes and no. If your metabolism is fast right now, chances are it will slow a little as you are not taking in as much energy. This also depends on your body – everyone is different. On the other hand, if you have a slow metabolism, clearing out toxins opens up channels so your body functions more efficiently.
Can I Reboot / Cleanse / Detox while taking antibiotics?
Weight Watch Detox is actually the perfect partner for your antibiotics. While antibiotics fight off harmful bacteria they also deplete the body’s supply of healthy bacteria. Weight Watch Detox is packed with nutrients that support a healthy immune system. An extended cleanse will even help strengthen your immune system to prevent illness in the future. We wish you a speedy recovery.
Can I Reboot / Cleanse / Detox if I am pregnant or nursing?
As a supplement to your current diet, yes. Alone? No. You actually need to add a LOT more calories than you normally consume while nursing. The body is looking for all the calories it can find so your child can grow, etc. The problem with any type of cleanse while pregnant or nursing is that you release a substantial amount of toxins back into your system, which is what your baby relies on for nourishment. That said, adding Weight Watch Detox juice to your regular diet while nursing and/or pregnant will give you the added nourishment your body so desperately needs during that time. Highly recommended.
Don’t I need fiber?
Fiber requires energy to separate and digest it, during your cleanse this will detract from the healing and rejuvenation process. No negative result will occur from the lack of fiber.
Are there any animal products in the juices?
Our juices have no animal based components and contain 100% pure plant matter in every bottle.
Are the juices gluten free?
Yes, our juices pose no problems for those with gluten allergies.
Can I cleanse if I have diabetes?
We recommend all cleansing be discussed with your doctor. If you have specific health problems, often a program can be specifically designed to overcome them. Natural fruit and vegetable juices are seldom a poor choice with any diseases!
Will my bathroom practices change?
Both diarrhea and constipation can be experienced, neither of which are a concern as your body is reacting in a natural and temporary way. Frequent urination is a welcome effect as you are drinking a lot of fluids with juices and large quantities of water between. This just means the cleansing process is working well.
Are there symptoms to a Reboot / Cleanse / Detox? How do I deal with these symptoms?
When detoxing, you may suffer from symptoms as your body expels toxins from your body. The severity of these symptoms are dependent on the amount of toxins your body has stored up over time. These symptoms are perfectly normal and not a sign you are getting sick. In fact, quite the opposite. These symptoms are a sign your body has started to heal and clean it self and has started detoxifying. It is important to note that these symptoms will only last a few days, usually 1-3 days if that. You are not becoming sick so refrain from taking medications to aide with these symptoms as the purpose of the detox is to flush chemicals from the body, not introduce more!
To help you deal with these unpleasant symptoms it is very important to drink plenty of fresh pure water (not tap) and your juices along with herbal teas. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of drinking water and as many herbal teas as you wish. If you are feeling lethargic or tired, then your body is telling you to rest. So rest! Hot showers may also help. Have the water as hot as is comfortable and scrub the skin well. This helps rid toxins through the skin.
Common detox symptoms can include, but not limited too:
- Headaches
- Lethargy
- Muscle aches
- Skin outbreaks
- Mucus and other discharge
